Haldimand Norfolk Housing Corporation is accepting applications from individuals who reside in Haldimand County for a position on its Board of Directors.

HNHC is governed by an eight-member Board of Directors, with equal representation from Haldimand County and Norfolk County. The Board provides governance and strategic oversight in support of HNHC’s mission to provide quality affordable housing in our communities. We welcome applicants with a variety of backgrounds, skills, and perspectives.

Time commitment: The Board normally meets on the third Wednesday of each month at 5:00 p.m. at the HNHC office in Simcoe. There are no regular meetings in July or August, although special meetings may occasionally be scheduled.

Haldimand Norfolk Housing Corporation has announced that Chief Executive Officer Matt Bowen has submitted his resignation. His final day with the organization will be September 11, 2026.

Since joining HNHC in 2019, Matt has supported the organization’s work to provide affordable housing and housing-related services throughout Haldimand and Norfolk. During his tenure, HNHC advanced a number of housing initiatives and development projects to help address housing needs across both communities.

The Board of Directors extends its appreciation to Matt for his leadership and contributions to the organization.

The recruitment process for a new Chief Executive Officer will begin in the coming weeks. Additional information about the transition will be shared as it becomes available.

Members of Norfolk County Council, County staff, Haldimand-Norfolk Housing Corporation (HNHC) board and staff, and representatives from local partner agencies, broke ground today at the future site of an affordable housing development in Delhi.

Located at 686 Gibraltar Street, the three‑storey, 25-unit building will include 15 one-bedroom units, eight two-bedroom units, and two three-bedroom accessible units. The accessible units are designed to provide supportive housing for six individuals in partnership with Norfolk Association for Community Living (NACL).

The project will provide 10 rent-geared-to-income (RGI) units and 15 affordable units, helping to expand access to safe and stable housing for residents in Norfolk County. The development supports the County’s ongoing efforts to improve housing stability and address homelessness in the community.

Norfolk Association for Community Living is a community‑based organization that provides housing and support to help residents live safely and independently in their community.

Funding for the development includes investments from the Haldimand‑Norfolk Housing Corporation (HNHC) and Norfolk County, reflecting a shared commitment to expanding affordable housing options in the community.

Construction is underway, with completion estimated at the end of 2027.
